Death In June - Black Angel - Live! (NRP23) - Released 2009


'Black Angel - Live' recorded in Australia 24th May, 2000 was one of the first of the intense stripped-back acoustic performances featuring Douglas P. and percussionist John Murphy that characterized Death In June's live work in this new Century.

This limited edition Picture Disc LP, with a different full colour picture on each side, is coupled with a bonus 4 track CD recorded at an impromptu performance 2 years later on 26th June, 2002, at The Laundry, Melbourne, Australia featuring a rare solo performance by Douglas P. on 6 string electric guitar with unreleased live versions of tracks from the then recently-issued 'All Pigs Must Die' album.

Exciting and direct, the songs on both the Picture Disc and CD can be regarded as a 'best of' Death In June live experience up to that point in time. All tracks have been digitally recorded and mastered.

Considered to be one of the most influential albums of all time, the deleted
original 1987 version of this album stands centrestage with works by The

musical genre, Neo Folk.

This digitally remastered edition was the bonus CD accompanying the 20th
Anniversary Stone Circle Edition of 'Brown Book' issued in 2007, and contains 7
songs from the original album coupled to 7 (*) remixed, re-recorded and rare
versions of the remaining songs.

In effect it is Brown Book II - 'Braun Buch Zwei'!

The completely recycled paper booklet and 'Repak' is brown with black 'Ultra
Coated' images and Runes featuring never-before-seen photos from the period.

Effettivamente... io ho accantonato anche l'idea di prendere lesson 1 in CD...

Io Douglas non lo sopporto piu' da diverso tempo.
e lo stesso dicasi x C93
stampe ristampe ristampe di ristampe....
collezionavo C93, avevo quasi tutto a loro nome..poi vedendo cosa David stava facendo, mi sono rotto le scatole ed ho venduto la mia collezione.
purtroppo è piu' forte di me...mi ci volevano piu' soldi ora a comperare le ultime uscite in varie edizione che una volta quando i dischi si comperavano via telefono o lettera.
e poi...magari nessuno si ricorda di quando ha venduto la sua casa in inghilterra...e nel giardino nascondeva una copia UNICA di un suo disco...quindi o comperavi la casa o il disco nn lo avevi.
...e per un collezionista questo è come ucciderlo.
quindi per me possono andare a farsi f...re tutti questi musicisti che hanno perso la spontaneita' e lo spirito puro che avevano negli anni passati, quando stampavano dischi sublimi.

si vero, però almeno Tibet , tra tante edizioni inutili, cose di un certo livello continua a farne uscire. Ha uno spessore che quell'altro si sogna.

proprio ieri riascoltavo Black Ships Ate the Sky e devo dire che è un album bellissimo.
Assolutamente convincente anche il recente concerto a Torino, anche gente che non los egue da tempo ha dovuto ammettere di essere rimasta impressionata. E si parla di tutta roba nuova.

indubbiamente Tibet fa ancora cose belle...con le collaborazioni che ha ci mancherebbe altro...e cmq è un grande nell'ambito musicale...
ma non puoi far si che chi ti segue da anni debba impazzire x stare dietro alla tua discografia...
